CHAPTER III.

Paradise, Unlocked

THE KEYS OF SAINT-PIERRE

In mythical reference, the keys of Saint-Pierre famously open and close the gates of paradise. They control day and night, and hence the changing of the seasons.

The visual identity of Saint-Pierre embodies mystery, elegance, and timelessness. It draws on a subtle balance between classic and modern codes, playing with the duality of warmth and coolness, shadow and light, night and morning.

The symbols unite three once-fragmented worlds: the vineyard, the winery, and the château.

•BRAND LOGO

‘A trinity between the vineyard, the cellar and the château’

This trinity is explored in all conceptual, narrative, and visual aspects of the identity: the vine and vegetation, the château’s iron gate, and the barrel cellar.

The label pays tribute to the 1917 version, the oldest label in the family’s possession.

This time was also a period of prosperity for Saint-Pierre, when its prices were aligned with certain second classified growths.

‘And over there, he dreamed of the Château Saint-Pierre. He said to himself: it’s a sign, Saint-Pierre has the keys to Paradise, and I may have the key to Saint-Pierre. With this key, I can open any door I want’

•THE VINTAGE

2024

The 2024 vintage, the first to be certified 100% organic, embodies the estate’s move towards even more respectful and sustainable viticulture.

BLEND

85% Cabernet Sauvignon
12% Merlot
3% Petit Verdot

2024 was an incomparable vintage, both climatically and technically, where the winemaker’s anticipation and experience were paramount.

We observed that the terroir had a spectacular effect on the quality of the grapes, thanks to a particular oceanic climate.

Given the meteorological conditions of winter and spring, the biological protection of the vineyard required a precise and rigorous strategy in every respect. The frequency of organic treatments, reinforced by the addition of herbal teas, decoctions and purins, is very high, requiring us to work several times over the weekends of May and June.

Harvesting begins on September 25 for the Merlot and October 2 for the Cabernet.

Reasoned vinification, both in terms of extraction and maceration time, is essential to avoid over-extraction, and to produce an aromatic, fine, supple wine with a harmonious alcohol/acidity/polyphenol balance.

‘The 2024 vintage is synonymous with freshness and fruit without too much alcohol.’

A promising future with the 2024 vintage, the first to be certified 100% organic. A commitment that continues the quest for authenticity, while preserving the very essence of the terroir.

The first of a new era, this wine embodies the promise of a future that harmoniously combines tradition and modernity, while preserving the timeless soul of Château Saint-Pierre.

‘As Martin and Triaud’s combined experience with the reassembled Saint-Pierre grows, the wines can only get better – a step closer to Heaven?’
